Phase II Leasing Underway at NTC Promenade

Be a part of the most important Arts & Culture project in San Diego! The NTC Foundation is now seeking Expressions of Interest from the widest range of tenants as we begin renovations to 7 historic Barracks buildings at NTC Promenade and expand our growing creative community.  Working drawings on the buildings are complete; historic review of the renovations has been finalized; construction financing is underway.   We are ready to move forward.

What We are Seeking
The NTC Barracks will be a creative hub for the NTC Promenade where the public can be engaged by the work of the creative community – artists and designers creating onsite, original clothing, art and crafts for sale, fine art on exhibit and San Diego’s diverse cultures located in heritage centers.  In addition, nonprofit office space is available to organizations engaged in and serving the creative industries.

In order to fulfill our mission, the NTC Foundation is seeking to enter into leasing agreements that will revitalize the Barracks and generate the revenue to sustain the NTC Promenade in perpetuity as an Arts & Cultural District in an historic setting.

Desired Attributes of NTC Barracks Tenancy

  • A spirit of collaboration and desire to be part of a collaborative arts and culture district

Tenancy is sought from – but not limited to - the following:

Before you turn your clocks back this weekend, enjoy the last Friday of longer daylight at the FREE monthly Friday Night Liberty open studios and galleries on November 5 starting at 5 p.m. at NTC Promenade Arts and Cultural District. New this month are exhibits in eight galleries, including CITY HEIGHTS: PRIMARY COLORS: A Photographic Exploration at the Bravo School of Art; The Rubins at Sophie’s Gallery; Patrick Meehan Fine Art at Studio 205; Decadent Expressions at Mod-Est Studio Gallery; three new exhibits at Visions Art Museum: Contemporary Quilts + Textiles; The HeART of Freedom at ARTS Gallery, and more. The holidays are fast approaching, and NTC Promenade would like to take this opportunity to reflect back on our past events this year. We are grateful to all our clients. We have held marvelous events including: Nissan Leaf test drive; Best of San Diego Magazine event; San Diego Chamber of Commerce Circles of Influence; Chef Showdown; Ballast Point Beer Wedding Table in Luce CourtFestival; and The Jewish Federation of San Diego event Celebrating Jewish Heroes, not to mention dozens of ceremonies in our North Chapel and wedding receptions in both the Corky McMillin Event Center and Luce Court/Legacy Plaza.

Nov 3-27 San Diego Water Color Society “Let Freedom Ring”
The San Diego Watercolor Society (SDWS) proudly presents “Let Freedom Ring”. Approximately 95 paintings created by national and international artists are on display and for sale. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. We warmly welcome the public to attend our First Friday reception, Nov 5, from 5 to 8 p.m., where visitors can meet the artists and members of our community. Sophie’s Gallery at NTC presents artists: Linda, June, Harvey and Gayle Rubin during the 2nd annual exhibition entitled “The Rubins”. Opening reception is Nov. 5th, from 5 to 8 p.m. Admission is free. Enjoy live music and refreshments and meet with the artists who are a family united through their artistic expressions and endeavourers. Nov 6 San Diego Brewer’s Guild Festival of Beer

Nov 8 – 12 San Diego Watercolor Society presents “Frank Francese Workshop”
Frank Francese will demonstrate his expertise in watercolor by painting a myriad of scenes. You will learn to find the emotion in stormy skies, wind and rain. Frank recommends bringing an open mind – it will open up your creativity and therefore your art. Nov 13 Shaun T Live!
Shaun T, the creator of the popular Beachbody DVD series “INSANITY”, will be at the McMillin Companies Event Center at 2875 Dewey Road, San Diego, 92106 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for two workouts. Tickets are $100, if you register early.
