Join us for the inaugural performance of NTC’s new 125-seat White Box Theater on Saturday, April 29, when Jean Isaacs San Diego Dance Theater presents its Studio Showcase at 6:30pm. The White Box Theater is located in the 2600 sq ft Studio 205 in Building 176.
The Showcase features choreography by SDDT Faculty including Jean Isaacs, Blythe Barton, Minaqua McPherson, Anne Gehman, Sara K. Blodgett and Javier Baca. General Admission tickets are $15, Seniors and Students $10, and are available at 619.225.1803.
The White Box Theater is a large 44’ by 56’ space with ceilings ranging from 12’ to 15’. It seats up to 125 people and features a lighting system, a sound board, and risers for seating. It’s named White Box because of the light colors of the walls, ceiling and floor – the opposite of the traditional Black Box theater. The risers and lighting system are thanks to a grant from the County of San Diego at the recommendation of Supervisor Pam Slater-Price.
The White Box is available for theater, dance or small music performances. To book the White Box Theater and for room specs and rate information, contact Rebecca Duckworth at NTC – [email protected] or 619.573.9300.
Does Your Event Leave a "Philanthropic Footprint?"
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has been a growing movement the last few years. This is a concept whereby an organization considers the long-term interests of the communities in which they operate. One obvious outgrowth of this movement has been to make functions more “green” and to lessen their negative impact on the environment. Just as important, though, is how an organization impacts the prosperity of the community in which they operate. This includes where they hold meetings and events.
CSR can be demonstrated in the venue selection for an event. Your rental of venue space at NTC will leave a philanthropic footprint that will help us to finish restoring the historic buildings entrusted to us. These buildings will create a center for arts and culture.
The NTC Command Center is an executive conference center equipped with WiFi, T1 and domestic conference calling. Each room has a 42-inch plasma monitor. Housed in what once the base library, the Corky McMillin Companies Event Center includes full audiovisual and sound equipment. Additionally, the grounds offer a beautiful setting for outdoor galas, receptions, 5Ks and festivals. This summer we’ll open our newest event center in the newly renovated Barracks 17.
When you are shopping for the perfect location for your next function, call Kathie Conway, our NTC non-profit venues sales expert at (619) 573-9209 or go to www.NTCVenues.com.
Make sure your event leaves a philanthropic footprint.
